07.18.06 | About the Author

I’m a Linguistics student in the USA, currently working on a Ph.D and doing research/teaching. I’m fascinated by the sounds of language and the processes through which we hear and produce them. I’m also very interested in the interaction of language with thought and the visible and invisible elements of the world in which we live. This site is an exploration of modern linguistics, in the mirror of some of those ideas. In addition to the Linguistic elements, I’ll share useful information about some of the more mundane aspects of the world, offering tips and links involving computing, linguistics, and anything else that catches my fancy.

My strongest passions are in language and linguistics, thought, philosophy, and the human experience of the world. Language is essential to the human experience, and by studying language, I hope to find new ways to view life and the world around me. In addition to language and linguistics, I enjoy playing hammered and mountain dulcimer, working on the computer and with free/open-source software, studying Russian literature, the tarot, and photography, and taking road trips.

Contact Information:

If you’d like to get in touch with me to discuss my posts and ideas, voice a concern, make a correction, or just get to know me, here are the best methods:

Email: parangaricutirimicuaro (at) linguisticmystic dot com (It’s the name of a volcano in Mexico, used here so that spambots can’t guess my address at random.)

This email will forward to my real address, which I use for correspondence (and which I’ll reply with). It’s nothing personal, I just don’t want to post the real address here, so I don’t get any more spam than I already do.

Comments: All posts on this site are open for commenting. Post up whatever thoughts you might have, and they’ll show up as soon as they’re confirmed to not be spam. Leave an email address for individual response, or I’ll just comment afterwards.
